A site

I spend a lot of time on internet every day, in fact I watch youtube videos and use facebook to see memes almost all day. One of the things that I love about the Internet is that I can search anything and find something about it.

I love reading so I always search on internet something to read. I really like discover amateur writers because usually they have a lot of creative ideas and they write interesting stories. Years ago I was searching stories to read and I found this website www.archiveofourown.org, and it compiles stories about everything and any gender, so I use it to read a lot of stories about subjects that I like. Lately I didn’t visit this website too much because I didn’t have time to, but I remember that a few years back I spent so much time reading stories on it.

A few days ago, I was telling a story that I read on the website to a friend, and is great because I remember the story because it was so good and now I can relate it to others. I mean, this story leave a mark on me and now I can leave a mark on other people. Is amazing.

My career

When I finished school I took a year off to think what I wanted to do, so I worked and went to a pre-university course. At first I studied informatic engineering in the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, but I abandon the career because it wasn’t what I was looking for my future. To be honest, I felt pressured to study a traditional career, but when I decided to study design I felt in peace because I found something that I really like to do the rest of my life.

I think designers are an underestimate but a great contribution to society. The design is an open door to see a different perspective of the reality and designers work to bring this new perspective to everybody. The art of communicate through the images is impressive and very difficult.

The principal tool that designers need to have in the future is creativity and patience. I’m not sure if this is considered tools but is really necessary when you work and you show to others the result of your work.

My favourite subject in this area is photography. I really want to learn more about this because I want to have a camera on the future, and take photos of the things I want to remember. 

A place

My big brother lives in Coquimbo since 10 years ago, so I visit him on summer vacations. In February 2012, we visited Mamalluca observatory placed in Vicuña, Coquimbo. It was the most exciting experience I have ever had.

The tour guides showed us the star positions and constellations, and we used a telescope to saw the moon, the planets Mars and Saturn. The sky was so clean and the stars so shiny, that I still remember that beautiful view. We didn’t even need the telescope to saw the Milky Way above of us. I felt so little beneath the vastness of the star-filled sky. It was so cold there because of the altitude, but I felt so warm because of the experience.

I like this place because it remembers me that out there exists so much wonderful things that I didn’t even know existed. It’s just amazing.

I really want to go again, and I must admit that is my favorite place in the whole world (for now).

Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is María José Álvarez but my friends call me Cote. I'm 22 years old and this is my third year studying design at FAU. I spend a lot of time sleeping, watching anime and playing videogames. I like drawing and playing ukulele and piano.

I love animals but I don't have any because my mom doesn't let me have one. My friends says that I'm a good talker but I don't think so. If I were an animal I would be a woodlouse.
